COVID testing is taking place approximately every five days. Officials say there has not been any testing conducted for the COVID-19 Variant of Concern (VOC) that is thought to have come from the UK and spreads more easily. Based on guidance from Public Health Ontario, there are criteria for testing for the VOC and this outbreak does not meet those criteria at this time according to Tremblay.
“Even without the testing, the facility has implemented stringent infection prevention and control measures.” Tremblay says.
