10 New Cases Of Coronavirus Reported In Kawartha Lakes Today

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit is reporting ten new cases of Coronavirus in the City of Kawartha Lakes today.

Officials would not say how many of those are from the outbreak at Caressant Care in Lindsay.

As of yesterday the long term care home had 18 resident cases and 15 staff cases since an outbreak was declared on January 9th.

We have also asked if this could be the UK variant that is found to spread more easily but have not had a response from the health unit.

There are now 60 active cases of the virus in Kawartha Lakes with the health unit tracking 76 high risk contacts. One more person has been hospitalized according to the health unit.

There has been 387 cases of Coronavirus in Kawartha Lakes to date with 304 resolved.
