Four Years Ago Today A Group Of Canadians Travelled To The US For The Women’s March On Washington

KAWARTHA LAKES-Four years ago I joined a Canadian contingent of women who took part in the Women’s March on Washington. It was a historic even that I could not miss.

The Women’s March was a worldwide protest on January 21, 2017, the day after the inauguration of President Donald Trump. The main event was held in Washington DC. It was prompted by the fact that several of Trump’s statements were considered by many as anti-women or offensive to women. At the time it was the largest single-day protest in U.S. history according to Wikipedia. And I was there.
