Witnesses see possible meteor or fireball flying through the sky in Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES – According to the American Meteor Society,  there have been reports of a fireball seen over parts of Ontario on December 2nd.

Various witnesses said they saw a possible meteor or fireball flying through the Kawartha Lakes including in Lindsay and Bobcaygeon.

Eileen Lawrence said she saw the object in the sky coming towards Bobcaygeon on highway 24 around noon today.

“It was dropping from the sky, straight down, wasn’t a plane for sure, not at that speed,” she explained. “I had my camera in my hand taking photos!”

Cyzarine Smith says she was in a parking lot and saw an alarming flash.

“Almost like photo radar,” she said. “I spent the next 10 minutes staring at the same pole to see if it would happen again.”

According to other witnesses the image was quite amazing and the object was seen going over Irondale Valley and as far away as Muskoka.
