KAWARTHA LAKES-A 30 year old Woodville man is facing charges after the OPPÂ responded to a traffic complaint related to a potentially impaired driver travelling on Highway 35.
Police say a short time after receiving the complaint, an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP located the vehicle on Highway 35 near Powles Road and initiated a traffic stop.
The subsequent investigation resulted in the driver, Patrick MacIsaac, 30 years of age, of Woodville, being arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Have care or control of vehicle with cannabis readily available, contrary to the Cannabis Control Act
The vehicle was towed from the scene to be impounded for seven days. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on January 28, 2021.
