Trunk-or-Treat Drive Thru on Saturday for the Annual Kinsmen Club Toy Drive

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Annual Toy drive for the Kinsmen Club in Lindsay has changed this year due to the pandemic.

The toy drive is going to go ahead but organizers have been forced to think outside the box for donations.

The annual event provides toys for up to 900 local kids per year.

“While we recognize it’s a little early to be thinking about Christmas, we have to get a jump start on it, as we won’t be able to put our blue barrels into as many locations as we have in previous years.” Doug Dent, Lindsay Kinsmen Club says.

The Trunk-or-Treat will take place On Saturday October 31st in the parking lot of Canadian Tire, at 377 Kent Street West, in Lindsay, between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. It is the first drive through Toy Donation event, where you just drop your donation off to one of their Members; and if you aren’t comfortable with it, you don’t even need to get out of your car.  All Kinsmen Members will be on site and will be practicing safe distancing and ensuring that we are all wearing our masks and hands sanitized between the donations, for everyone’s protection.

“So, please come out and help keep this annual tradition alive, by helping us give the children in our Community the best Christmas possible.” Dent exclaims.
Monetary donations will also be accepted; and please do not forget the older kids, aged 12-15, and the very young children, from newborn to 2 years old, when considering a donation.
