Police targeting excessive noise during month of November

KAWARTHA LAKES- The Kawartha Lakes Police Service will be targeting excessive noise throughout the month of November.

In September and October, 2020, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service led a traffic enforcement initiative that targeted student safety in school zones, and around school buses.  Police say in response to frequent concerns raised by members of the community, during the month of November officers will be targeting vehicles that are causing excessive, or unnecessary noise.

Members of the Kawartha Lakes Police Service will be monitoring areas where complaints about noisy vehicles often originate, such as major intersections in Lindsay.

Drivers could face fines of $110 if they are charged with making unnecessary noise, or having an improper muffler, and up to a fine of $10,000 and a driver’s license suspension if they are charged with stunt driving.
