Kawartha Lakes OPP raising money for Special Olympics Ontario

KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes OPP is running in the rain while raising money for the Special Olympics.

The Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) is the largest public awareness vehicle and grass-roots fundraiser for Special Olympics. This year organizers challenged individual police detachments to raise $250.00 to sponsor an athlete.

And the Kawartha Lakes detachment accepted the challenge.

On October 15, 2020 officers from the detachment completed a 5km run, in the rain, in order to raise funds for the Special Olympics. To date, $500.00 has been raised by the detachment.

All funds raised through Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run events are directed into program support that directly affects all community Special Olympics Ontario (SOO) programs.
