Bank employees in Lindsay thwart attempted fraud

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 49 year old Lindsay woman is facing charges after bank employees because suspicious of a cheque she was trying to cash.

Police say on September 29, 2020 at 10:35AM, a woman attended a Lindsay area bank and attempted to cash a cheque for $10,000. Employees of the bank were suspicious of the cheque and contacted police.

The woman left the bank prior to the arrival of officers, but was located in the area later the same day and arrested according to police.

Charged with three counts of uttering a forged document, fraud over $5000 and failing to comply with the conditions of her probation order is 49-year-old Christine Pearsell of Lindsay.
