Highway 28 north of Apsley closed after a serious crash

KAWARTHA LAKES-Members of the Peterborough County OPP and emergency crews are currently on scene of a collision which occurred at approximately 3:15pm on Highway 28 north of Jeff Road.

Police say a motorcycle was travelling southbound on Highway 28 when the driver lost control for an unknown reason. One male victim has been transported by air ambulance to a Toronto area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Highway 28 is closed while members trained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene. Detours will be in place on Highway 28 at Jeff Road and Highway 118. Drivers should give themselves extra time if travelling in this area due to the length of the detour. The closure will remain in place for several hours while police investigate.
