Motorcycle impounded after being clocked going almost double the speed limit

KAWARTHA LAKES-The operator of a motor cycle is without a driver’s licence and his bike for seven days after police conducted a traffic stop.

Police say on September 9, 2020 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP was patrolling on Highway 7 near Highway 35 when a motor cycle was observed travelling at 158km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The officer subsequently stopped the motor cycle and charged the driver, a 33 year old Lindsay resident, with stunt driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The motor cycle was towed from the scene to be impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on December 1, 2020
