27 dogs seized in animal investigation in Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes Police say 27 dogs were seized in an animal investigation in Lindsay.

Just before noon on August 14, 2020, City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service entered into a joint investigation with the Animal Welfare Inspectors at a Kent Street West address in Lindsay.

Officers located a camping trailer with 18 adult dogs and 9 puppies according to police. Due to the conditions that the dogs were found in, they were all seized and turned over to the Humane Society for examination and care.

At the conclusion of the investigation officers charged 61-year-old Janie Brooke Rumm of No Fixed Address with Cruelty to Animals and Cause Damage to Animal – Fail to provide suitable/adequate food, water, care, shelter.
