KAWARTHA LAKES-A vehicle was towed from the scene after the driver was charged with stunt driving and having cannabis readlity available in Lindsay.
Police say a Kawartha Lakes Police Service constable was conducting speed enforcement on Angeline Street North in Lindsay on June 9, 2020, following a complaint from the public about vehicles not obeying the 50 KM/HR speed limit.
At 1:00PM, the officer measured the speed of a vehicle travelling south on Angeline Street to be 105 KM/HR in the posted 50 KM/HR zone. The officer stopped the vehicle and after further investigation allegedly found the driver to have cannabis readily available.
The driver has been charged with stunt driving by speeding 50 KM or more, speeding 105 KM/HR in a posted 50 KM/HR zone, driver failing to surrender license, and drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available. The driver’s vehicle was towed from the scene and has been impounded for seven days.
