Woman assaulted on walking path in Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes Police are investigating after a woman was allegedly assaulted on a walking path in Lindsay.

Police say a woman contacted the Kawartha Lakes Police Service on May 27 to report that she was assaulted by the driver of a dirt bike as she walked along a path in Lindsay. The assault occurred just before 2:00PM, as the woman walked on the path between the Lindsay Recreation Centre and Fleming College.

The woman says she noticed a dirt bike approaching her, pull over, off the path and stop on to the grass to let her walk by. After the woman walked past the dirt bike, the driver turned the machine around and approached the woman from behind. As the dirt bike travelled past the woman, the driver slapped the woman on the buttocks and sped away according to police.

The dirt bike was described as being red and white in colour, possibly a Honda 250CRF or similar style bike. The Kawartha Lakes Police Service is asking that anyone who may have information about this incident to contact them at 705.324.5252. Or if you wish to provide your information anonymously, you can do so through Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.TIPS (8477) or at www.kh.crimestoppersweb.com.
