Local real estate agent holding first “live” virtual, open house in wake of Coronavirus restrictions

KAWARTHA LAKES-For real estate agents an “open house’ is one of the most popular ways to sell a house. You get maximum exposure in a short amount of time. The Coronavirus pandemic has put a stop to that, until today.

Brad Bird of Mincom Plus Realty in Lindsay is holding two “live” virtual online open houses today starting at 1pm. The featured homes are single family dwellings on Maguire Street in Lindsay. 1 Maguire is listed for $619,000 will go live at 1pm and 36 Maguire for $579,000 will go live at 1:15. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions.

“We are doing it for two reasons.” Broker/Owner Brad Bird told Kawartha 411 News. “We believe it will be affective for people who are interested in a home, it’s more personal than a video. For the buyer so they can get a real feel for the home and obviously the seller to help get the homes sold.”

Although real estate has been deemed an essential service agents have had to change the way they do business. Bird only allows two people in the home for a showing and he is the only one who touches door knobs, light switches and cupboard doors etc. In person Open Houses are not allowed.

If you are looking for a home in the Lindsay area go to their Facebook or Instagram pages at 1pm. Facebook is Team Brad Bird-Kawarthas Real Estate Team and Instagram is Teambradbird.
