Emergency crews on the scene of a house fire near Sebright

UPDATE:Initial investigation indicated that five persons were able to exit the residence without injury. Two persons are deceased according to the OPP. At this time the fire does not appear to be suspicious.

KAWARTHA LAKES-Emergency crews are on the scene of a residential fire on Young Street, near Sebright.

Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to the call and are currently on scene with members of the Kawartha Lakes Fire Department and Kawartha Lakes Paramedic services.

The Ontario Fire Marshalls office has been contacted and will be attending the scene. Young Street is currently not accessible to vehicles due to the presence of emergency service vehicles.
