Driver taken to Toronto hospital after serious crash on Highway 7

KAWARTHA LAKES-One person was taken to a Toronto hospital after a serious crash on Highway 7 last night.

Members of the Peterborough County OPP and emergency services were called to assist at a collision at approximately 10:30pm last night on Highway 7 at Villiers Line.

A minivan travelling eastbound allegedly crossed the center line and struck a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) that was travelling westbound. The driver from the minivan was transported to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. The driver from the CMV was not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Highway 7 was closed while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. Highway 7 reopened at 8:30am this morning.
