KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service is investigating the theft of a National Cupcake Day donation box in Lindsay.
Monday February 24 was National Cupcake Day raising much needed funds for SPCAs & Humane Societies across Canada. Many local businesses, restaurants, offices and schools in Lindsay participated by hosting cupcake parties and collecting donations to help support the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes.
Police say yesterday, at 11:50AM, a man attended a business on Angeline Street North in Lindsay and stole the donation box from the cupcake sale that was taking place. The man is described as being between 40 and 70 years old, “scruffy” appearance, with grey hair. He was wearing a dark toque, military green coat, dark pants and light coloured tall boots.
National Cupcake Day is one of the biggest fundraisers for our local Human Society raising $8,000 last year.
