KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes Police seized 17.4 grams of Heroin and a combat knife in a traffic stop south of Lindsay.
Police say on Monday January 13th at 10:15PM a Kawartha Lakes Police Service constable stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 35 South in Lindsay. After speaking with the two male occupants of the vehicle, the investigating officer enlisted the assistance of the Kawartha Lakes Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of 17.4 grams of heroin and a combat knife from the two men according to police.
32-year-old Joshua George Innes of Lindsay has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, failing to comply with the conditions of his probation order and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
27-year-old Richard George Stamatiou of Lindsay has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with the conditions of his probation order.
Both men were held in custody to attend a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street west in Lindsay on January 14, 20
