KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha 411 News has learned the man found dead at Dagmar Ski Resort in Uxbridge was from Kawartha Lakes.
A man was found fatally injured around 3am this morning at the resort. Kawartha 411 has confirmed it was 40 year old Wade Hartin from Kinmount. Hartin was a snow grooming machine operator at the resort and had recently married. He had a new baby on the way. His parents are Mary and Brad Hartin.
Kinmount resident Diane Austin told Kawartha 411 the entire community is in shock. “He was a very, very lovely person. It’s a sad day for all of us.” she said.

Durham Regional Police Services investigations unit and the Ministry of Labour are investigating the incident.
“Sadly, the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development was notified this morning of a workplace fatality at Ski Dagmar Resort in the town of Uxbridge.” Gloria Yip Spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development told Kawartha 411. “It was reported that a snow grooming machine operator was fatally injured. Our thoughts are with the family and colleagues of the worker who passed away.”
The ministry has assigned an inspector and the investigation is ongoing.
