KAWARTHA LAKES-A 29 year old man is facing a number of charges after a four hour man hunt in Trent Lakes.
Members of the Peterborough County OPP responded to a 911 call on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 2:45pm. The complainants reported that a male armed with a firearm had entered their residence located on Fire Route 352. The suspect left the residence prior to police arrival.
At approximately 3:30pm, the suspect was allegedly located by officers in his vehicle but he fled into the bush on foot. Additional officers from Haliburton Highlands OPP, Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Central Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) attended the scene.
At 7:45pm, the suspect was arrested without incident and transported to a local hospital.
Ryan Tucker (age 29) of the Municipality of Trent Lakes is charged with:
· Intimidation-justice system-persons or the general public-two counts
· Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm
· Uttering threats-cause death or bodily harm-two counts
· Unlawfully in a dwelling house
· Pointing a firearm
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on January 23, 2020.
