KAWARTHA LAKES-A 55 year old man is facing a number of charges after being stopped at a RIDE check point.

Police say on November 25 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP established a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check program on Pleasant Point Road.

An officer approached a vehicle driver as it entered into the area and the ensuing investigation indicated that the driver, Christopher Sitarz, 55 years of age, was a suspended driver. Further investigation revealed that there was an outstanding warrant for Sitarz.

Sitarz was arrested and charged with Driving while under suspension, Make a false statement and Operate a motor vehicle without insurance.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
