KAWARTHA LAKES-Highway 35 is closed between Fleetwood Road and Bethany Hills Road while the OPP investigate a fatal collision.
Police say at approximately 6:40 a.m. this morning officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 35. The collision involved a pick-up truck, which had been travelling southbound, and a northbound tractor trailer.
The driver of the pick-up truck, who will not be identified pending next of kin notification, has died. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured in the collision.
A Technical Collision Investigator and a Reconstructionist are on scene to assist with the investigation, necessitating the closure of the highway for several hours.
