Lindsay man charged with impaired driving after tip from the public

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 30 year old Lindsay man is facing charges after a tip from the public.

Police say on Tuesday November 19th at 2:55pm a concerned citizen contacted the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service to report they had just witnessed a truck and trailer collide with a parked vehicle on Cambridge Street south in Lindsay.

When officers arrived to investigate, they allegedly found the truck and driver, parked a short distance away from the collision.  The investigating officer determined the driver of the truck was impaired and placed him under arrest.

Charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs is 30-year-old Jonathan Hutchinson of Lindsay.

Police say tips from the public are an integral part of the community and police service working together to keep the Kawartha Lakes safe.  If you suspect you see an impaired driver, please telephone “911” as soon as it is safe for you to do so.
