BOB FM announces new morning show host

KAWARTHA LAKES- BOB FM in Lindsay announced the launch of an all-new morning show hosted by veteran radio personality Vanessa Murphy.

Murphy has 16 years in the radio industry, most recently at iHeartRadio Canada’s Pure Country 105 in Peterborough as Music Director, as well as Midday Host at Peterborough’s Energy 99.7. Prior to joining Bell Media, Murphy was an on-air host for Toronto’s boom 97.3.

“I’m honoured and excited to join 91.9 BOB FM mornings and look forward to waking up with listeners across Lindsay and The Kawartha Lakes Region,” said host Vanessa Murphy. “If you drive by the studio next week, you’ll likely see me playing air guitar to Aerosmith! And I’m soooo looking forward to meeting our listeners at the Kinsmen Toy Drive Broadcast on December 7.”

“Lindsay and Kawartha Lakes Region are going to love waking up with Vanessa Murphy on BOB FM,” said Brian Young, Program Director, Bell Media Peterborough. “Her amazing attitude and fun personality will be a wonderful addition to the team at BOB and we’re really excited about what’s to come!”

The change comes after longtime morning show hosts Dave Illman and Julie Corlett were “laid off” from BOB FM last week and reportedly escorted from the building. They had a combined almost 50 years at the station.

Some local residents were upset with the move and held a rally on Monday to try to have the pair reinstated. They have also started a petition. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fchng.it%2F5bbPhMjVWs%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR2xvVYVq9GZN8C6GgZJxQzj352qhRlnobLbeWOC0FocqBCOll-xwifjXFQ&h=AT0FlTTBsH0EGLmuG6ts-XygCPE7lguj0fCMCrhu2SPnrx699Lzg6FEYVvFLLxsS7mGlZg4w2XkI66s0A9Ye0BP_5pBgKCBL4sUbIcQtbtksgiLQ4tpGBt6pWFM7LasRGcwMcoLu8aGMkxbB1fTQEly2b6DLkA2lxZOaHo6OOcOBJ5flf9J5GOUse6yGlFmrgUZhYLodu8ubGFWaI37imU6ovuD-cL1aWMI8iKR-BKERBejsSUxLj8UjloDulVGvyi42PIwLXrY57ClhOg9_fl90UsUgrtqImQhkaE5XpxEupOQaCsJ1Ts7tBmCcGMe2T58J4220KHOLpADKmCp_jPdxxjpV4j9P9DBwJuVM_y3YCMGhUJo3dI4ruuiOiQUI3WbnyiKF6DDDhVezyinVdqtexCwgzWE9xtuj9mGC-fawU1dSOqci0slY693HDTX2E8Trqa3pl-ugnhk8v8Uuig9H4fJG4D2DqM13QZNgzQeOYMV8BM_FTs_vKadbyL97hNWu5y89AlxBaaAMRTN_HFk

The new show will begin Monday, Nov. 25th at 5:30-10 a.m. ET.
