Crews battle barn fire on Sturgeon Road

KAWARTHA LAKES-Crews from five halls battled a barn fire on Sturgeon Road near Omemee last night.

The call came in around 11:30pm. Emily, Dunsford, Ops, Omemee and a support crew from Fenelon Falls all responded to the blaze. District Fire Chief Dave Kish told Kawartha 411 the barn was fully involved when crews arrived and is a write-off. Damage is pegged around $150,000.

There were no animals is the barn at the time and no one was injured according to Kish.

There’s no word on the cause.
