Man charged after dog bite complaint

UPDATE: All charges in this case were withdrawn.

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 45 year old man is facing charges after a dog bite complaint.

Police say on October 7, 2019 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP were called to a residence on Victoria Road in response to a dog bite complaint.

The incident was initiated after an unknown dog allegedly charged at the complainant, whom was walking a dog on the sidewalk, on two separate occasions. No serious injuries were incurred. When the complainant attempted to speak with the dog owner, a verbal altercation ensued according to police.

The investigation led to the dog owner being charged with the Criminal Code offence of uttering threats. Those charges were later withdrawn.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on November 7, 2019.
