Lindsay man charged with racing, vehicle impounded

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 60 year old Lindsay man is facing charges after being clocked allegedly going 64 km an hour over the speed limit.

Police say on October 1, 2019 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP was  patrolling on Kirkfield Road near Juniper Trail when a vehicle was observed travelling at an excessive speed.

The officer determined that the vehicle was travelling at 144km/h in a posted 80km/h zone and subsequently stopped the vehicle. The driver, Daniel Reynolds, 60 years of age, of Lindsay, was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle- Excessive Speed, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The driver’s licence was automatically suspended and the vehicle was impounded.
