Police warn of fake American $50 bills circulating in Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-Police say a Lindsay business received a number of counterfeit American $50 bills recently.

Kawartha Lakes Police Service Administrative Sergeant, Dave Murtha is warning businesses and residents to be on the lookout for the fakes.

According to the US government Currency Education Program this is what you should look for:

Hold the note to light and look for a faint image of President Grant in the blank space to the right of the portrait. The image is visible from both sides of the note. Tilt the note to see the numeral 50 in the lower right corner on the front of the note shift from green to black.
