PETERBOROUGH-Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Digital Forensic Unit and Peterborough OPP Detachment have arrested and charged a Mississauga man following a one-month investigation relating to Luring of a young person for a sexual purpose.
In July 2019, the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit commenced an investigation relating to an unknown male communicating over the internet with a young person for a sexual purpose.
On August 1, 2019 the OPP along with their internet child exploitation partners at the Peel Regional Police Service, executed a search warrant at a Mississauga residence.
As a result of the investigation, 28 year old Robert Miners was arrested and charged with Luring a Person under 16 years for a sexual purpose.
Police say multiple electronic devices were seized for further examination.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on August 2, 2019.
