KAWARTHA LAKES-The Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate an overnight fire at the former Northern Plastics plant in Lindsay.
Crews were called to the scene on St. David Street at approximately 3:30 this morning. A number of trucks responded to the call. No one was injured according to fire officials.
Police say residents in the area of the burning building were evacuated from their homes as a precaution for the heavy smoke spreading through the neighbourhood.
The building was vacant at the time of the fire. There’s no word yet on the value of the loss.
