Heroin, cocaine and opioids found during traffic stop in Omemee.

KAWARTHA LAKES-A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Kawartha Lakes OPP has resulted in the arrest of a local male, who now faces multiple charges.

Police say on April 2nd an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP initiated a traffic stop while on patrol in the Omemee area. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the driver, Terry Ham, 40 years of age, who has been charged with the following offences:

  • Obstruct peace officer, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – Heroin, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – Cocaine, contrary to the CDSA
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – Opioid, contrary to the CDSA
  • Breach of Probation, contrary to the Provincial Offences Act
  • 2 counts of driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
  • Driver fail to surrender permit, contrary to the HTA
  • Drive motor vehicle, no validation, contrary to the HTA
  • Fail to surrender insurance card, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance A
