Pedestrian walking on the shoulder of Hwy 115 facing charges

PETERBOROUGH-A pedestrian walking on the westbound shoulder of Highway 115 near Peterborough at 7:00pm on March 11th is facing charges.

Police say officers spoke with the male and discovered he had a warrant for his arrest.

Further investigation revealed that the male was allegedly in possession of illicit drugs.

48 year old Michael Karikas of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance-methamphetamine-two counts
  • Possession of a schedule III substance
  • Fail to comply with recognizance
  • Possession of an identity document-two counts

The accused was held in custody for a show cause hearing scheduled for later today in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
