Arrest made in purse snatching in Fenelon Falls

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP is thanking the public for their assistance with identifying a male wanted in conncection to a purse snatching in Fenelon Falls. Information received was paired with the on-going investigation which was concluded with an arrest.

Police say on February 14, 2019, officers attended a local restaurant in the Fenelon Falls area in response to a complaint regarding the theft of a purse. Through investigation officers were able to locate a photo of a male party which was then posted to Twitter and Crime Stoppers on February 15th. Numerous tips and phone calls were received by the investigating officer.

Peter Murray, 64 years of age, of Fenelon Falls, was charged with theft, under $5 000, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March 21, 2019.
