Teacher in Lindsay charged with assaulting student

KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes Police have charged a teacher in Lindsay with assaulting a student.

Police say on Friday January 25 the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service received the report of an assault that had occurred the previous day at King Albert Public School in Lindsay.

A member of the police service’s Criminal Investigation Branch was assigned to investigate the allegation. As a result, a female teacher employed at the school has been charged with one count of assault.

The victim, who is a student of the school did not suffer physical injuries as a result of the assault and the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service believe this was an isolated incident.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street west in Lindsay on March 7, 2019. The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim according to police.
