Community coming together to help local teen who suffered “life threatening” injuries in crash last Wednesday

KAWARTHA LAKES-17 year old Dan Davies is described as an energetic, bright and funny 17 year old. He is a student at IE Weldon Secondary School in Lindsay.

Davies suffered “life threatening” injuries in a car crash on Pigeon Lake Road last Wednesday and is in a Toronto Hospital in a medically induced coma. “He is receiving excellent care in the Neurology ICU but has a long recovery road ahead of him, and his parents and brother are waiting patiently by his side.” says the Go Fund Me campaign set up to help the Davies family.

Initial investigation by police indicated that a vehicle travelling West bound lost control on the icy road, crossed the centre line and collided with an East bound vehicle. The driver of the East bound vehicle, a 57 year old local male, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the West bound vehicle, a 17 year old local male, was initially taken to a local hospital but was then transported via Ornge ambulance to a Toronto area hospital with life threatening injuries.

“Although insurance will help provide some financial support for Daniel’s health care, there are countless other expenses that go along with supporting his recovery.” says the campaign.

A “Go Fund Me” campaign has been set up to help the family with expenses.
