Gun call prompts “hold and secure” at schools in Fenelon Falls

KAWARTHA LAKES-Fenelon Falls Secondary School and Langton Public School in Fenelon Falls were placed in a “hold and secure” this morning after a gun call came in to the OPP.

Police say officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call for service related to a suspicious male in the Fenelon Falls area just before 10am. Police confirmed to Kawartha 411 it was initially a gun call.

As a result of the initial information, both Langton Public School and Fenelon Falls Secondary School were placed in a hold and secure for precautionary reasons. The investigation determined that there was not a safety threat and the hold and secure was promptly lifted according to police.
