Barn on Kings Wharf Road destroyed by fire this morning

KAWARTHA LAKES-A number of fire crews remain on the scene of a barn fire on Kings Wharf Road near Lindsay.

The fire broke out just before 9 am this morning. When crews arrived the building was fully involved. A witness told Kawartha 411 the owner was trying to keep the fire from spreading to a nearby silo by using a large snowblower, until fire crews arrived.

The barn is completely destroyed. The owner was able to get the animals out and none were injured according to firefighters on the scene.

Fire trucks were lined up along the road waiting to bring in water. They were filling up using the hydrants at the Lindsay jail.

There’s no word on a cause.
