Dunsford man named to Team Canada Wheelchair Curling team

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Dunsford man has been named to Team Canada Wheelchair Curling Team. The team will be competing in the World Championships in March in Scotland.

In 2008, Jon Thurston was paralyzed from the waist down after a construction accident in Lindsay. He was part of a crew working on a facility on St. David Street in Lindsay when the building collapsed after a storm had blown through the area. That’s not the only adversity Thurston has had to overcome to make it to Team Canada. Watch his inspiring story here:
