Police find stolen vehicle at gas station in Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-A police officer filling up his cruiser with gas noticed an allegedly stolen vehicle at the gas station.

Police say members of the Peterborough County OPP attended a gas station on Lansdowne Street East to refuel their cruiser at 5:00am on Saturday, January 12, 2019. While at the gas station, officers observed a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 that did not have front or rear licence plates. Investigation revealed that the driver had recently stolen the truck from a warehouse in Oshawa, Ontario.

31 year old Steven Irvine of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime-over $5000
  • Theft under $5000
