KAWARTHA LAKES-One person was taken to a Toronto hospital by air ambulance after a two vehicle collision necessitated the closure of portions of two roadways.
Police say at approximately 2:14p.m. on Wednesday officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a collision at the intersection of Valentia Road and Ramsey Road. Initial investigation indicated that a pickup truck was travelling south bound on Valentia road and an SUV was travelling east bound on Ramsey Road when the collision occurred.
The male driver and lone occupant of the pickup truck was transported from the scene via Ornge ambulance to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. The occupants of the SUV were transported via ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Valentia Road was closed at Zion Road and Elm Tree Road and Ramsey Road was closed at Ogemah Road. The OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) unit was on scene to assist with the investigation and roads were closed for several hours.
