Police stop wrong way driver on Hwy 115

PETERBOROUGH-A 59 year old man from Newcastle is facing charges after being stopped while allegedly going the wrong way on Highway 115.

Members of the Peterborough County OPP responded to a traffic complaint at approximately 11:00pm on Sunday, December 23, 2018. The suspect vehicle was reportedly travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes on Highway 115. The vehicle was stopped and the male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Randy Cobbledick (age 59) of Newcastle, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  •  Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

The Peterborough County OPP is reminding motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
