Threats made to two schools in Fenelon Falls

KAWARTHA LAKES-Fenelon Falls Secondary School and Langton Public School were both placed on “Hold and Secure” shortly after the noon hour on Wednesday.

The OPP says officers responded to a weapons call in Fenelon Falls. Initial information resulted in Fenelon Falls Secondary School and Langton Public School initiating a hold and secure for precautionary measures according to police. A source with the OPP told kawartha 411 threats were made against the schools.

The ensuing investigation identified a suspect who was quickly located in the vicinity of the schools. A local 14 year old male was apprehended without incident and held for a bail hearing.

The Hold and Secure was lifted a short time later. No injuries were reported. Police continue to investigate.
