$50,000 reward offered for information in unsolved murder near Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-Exactly two years ago today, Bayram Abolhassani-Larki, 19-years-old, was seen for the last time.

On May 16, 2017, he was found murdered in a vehicle parked in a field off of Post Road in the Township of Ops, City of Kawartha Lakes.

The search for his killer continues. For the last two years, detectives from both the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service (CKLPS) have been actively working to identify the person or persons responsible for Bayram ABOLHASSANI-LARKI’s murder.

“Someone knows something about what happened to Bayram Abolhassani-Larki. No detail is too small-you never know what might be the piece of information that helps us understand how this young man met his untimely death.” said Detective Inspector Dave Robinson, Ontario Provincial Police

Today, on the anniversary of the last time he was seen, the OPP and CKLPS are asking the public for any information that might help police solve this case. ABOLHASSANI-LARKI’s mother has collaborated with the OPP and CKLPS to record a video appealing to anyone who might have information about the disappearance and subsequent murder of her son.

“Bayram Abolhassani-Larki’s killer is still out there. Someone has information that can help the police get that person off the streets. Your information may also prevent another family from suffering like Bayram’s family is.”Detective Sergeant Kirk Robertson, City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service says.

A reward of $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Bayram ABOLHASSANI-LARKI.

Anyone with information regarding the disappearance or murder of Bayram ABOLHASSANI-LARKI should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police Criminal Investigation Branch at 1-888-310-1122 or (705) 329-6111. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
