Dog pepper sprayed in Lindsay home invasion

KAWARTHA LAKES-Police say a dog was pepper sprayed during a home invasion in Lindsay in November.

On November 22nd at 9:43pm a man arrived at an acquaintance’s residence on Victoria Avenue south in Lindsay and forced his way into the home according to police. The man allegedly pepper sprayed a dog that was in the home, and then demanded money from the occupants.

Police say when the man’s demands were not immediately met, he damaged a table and then fled from the residence when he learned that the police were being called.

The Kawartha Lakes Police Service were unable to locate the man at the time, but obtained a warrant for his arrest. On Monday December 10, 2018 the man was located and arrested. Charged with break and enter, mischief to property under $5000, cruelty to animals, administering a noxious substance, assault with a weapon, robbery, failing to comply with a probation order and failing to comply with his recognizance is 34-year-old Jonathan Cecil Young of Lindsay.
