Winter weather travel advisory issued for Kawartha Lakes

KAWARHTA LAKES-If you are travelling today environment Canada is suggesting you postpone all non-essential travel.

A Winter Weather Travel Advisory has been issued for Fenelon Falls – Balsam Lake Park – Northern, Kawartha Lakes and Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes.

Lake effect snow is expected to strengthen over Georgian Bay and extend inland towards Lake Simcoe today. Sudden reduced visibility due to heavy snow is possible along with total snowfall accumulations near 10 cm in a short period of time.

Untreated roads may become snow covered and icy. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.

Lake effect snow will weaken through the evening according to environment Canada.
