Kawartha Lakes OPP lay cannabis charge

KAWARTHA LAKES-A recent vehicle stop conducted by the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP resulted in the seizure of cannabis.

Police say on November 28th an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 35 after observing that the vehicle allegedly had only one working headlight. During the vehicle stop the officer conducted an investigation that resulted in the driver facing a cannabis related charge.

55 year old Frederick Ward of Oshawa was charged with driving a motor vehicle with cannabis readily available, contrary to the Cannabis Act. This offence carries a $215 fine. Thirty three grams of cannabis was seized.
