OPP respond to assault in progress in Coboconk

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to an alleged assault in progress, resulting in a local male being arrested and charged with multiple offences.

Police say on November officers were called to a residence in the Coboconk area and subsequently conducted an investigation. Neil McDermott, 34 years of age, of Coboconk, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Mischief, Under $5 000 contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on November 28, 2018.
