Lindsay man charged after bizarre incident over the weekend

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 35 year old Lindsay man is facing charges after a bizarre incident on May 20th.

Just before 6am the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service was contacted by an emergency telephone call to “911” in regards to a disturbance taking place at an address on Kent Street west in Lindsay. Officers were allegedly informed by the “911” caller that a person may be trying to break into a home in the area.

Members of the Kawartha Lakes Police Service attended the Kent Street west address and located a man outside, at the back of the home. The man was arrested and allegedly found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Police say further investigation revealed that a break and enter had not occurred at the residence.

However, 35 year old Michael James Martin was charged with being unlawfully at large, failing to comply with the conditions of his probation order and possession of a controlled substance.
