Coboconk man charged after alleged bomb threats made to local businesses

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 37-year-old Coboconk man has been charged with three counts of public mischief following an investigation into bomb threats made to local businesses.

The Peterborough Police Service investigated three alleged bomb threats to local City businesses on January 22 and 23, 2018.

Police say after the initial call on January 22, 2018, a suspect was identified. As a result of the initial investigation a 62 year old Peterborough man was arrested and charged.

However, later on January 22 and again on January 23, 2018 second and third bomb threats were received according to police.

An investigation that included the assistance of the Kawartha Lakes OPP helped police trace the calls to Coboconk and a new suspect was identified.

On January 26, 2018 a warrant was issued and on January 29, 2018 again with the assistance of the Kawartha Lakes OPP, the suspect was arrested.

As a result of this further investigation police say 37 year old Joshua Kimble of Coboconk has been charged with public mischief X3 and breach of conditional sentence. He was held in custody.

On January 30, 2018, the charges against the initial man were withdrawn.
